Facebook Competition Round Up & Winner Announcement!

We have been running a competition on our Facebook page with the chance to win an iPad or £400 worth of Owatrol products and we can now announce the winner!

To enter the competition you simply had to send us a before and after shot of a project you have completed using at least one product from Owatrol. We then posted these onto our Facebook page and the one with the most likes by the closing date was the winner. We had some excellent entries!

Competition entries

Polytrol-Comp-EntryThis entrant has used Owatrol’s Polytrol colour restorer to restore the faded colour of the footplates on their moped. It’s now looking good as new!

Dilunett & Net-Trol Comp Entry

This next entrant has used 2 Owatrol products for their project. Their gate had been previously coated so they used Dilunett Gel to strip away the finish and then neutralised the surface with Net-Trol. The door was unfinished so was simply cleaned and restored using Net-Trol wood cleaner.

SCS Comp EntryThe third entrant has used Solid Colour Stain opaque wood finish in Traditional Navajo Red and White to refurbish this old boat. The coverage of the stain was really incredible hiding more than 20 years of decay. the entrant said:

In place of a wreck we now have a beautiful boat that is perfect for our grandchildren, nieces and nephews to play in. It really is fantastic to see another generation having great fun, using their imagination, as they “sail the seven seas”!

Polytrol 2 Comp EntryThe fourth entrant also used Polytrol but this time on the faded bumpers and plastic work of their 12 year old van. The entrant said:

Owatrol Polytrol applied roughly 2 years ago, 100 van washes later the plastics still looks new. Paintwork was buffed and polished 2 years ago and has just needed doing again. Polytrol outlasted the buffing …

Owatrol Oil Comp EntryThe final entrant used Owatrol Oil or paint additive with rust inhibitor in Little Greene Oil-based Eggshell. They used it on a lovely cottage in a Warwickshire village which had lots of beautiful iron lattice windows. They’d gone rusty, the putty had cracked, some of the timber was rotten. The transformation is pretty impressive!

The winner

We posted all these entrants on our Facebook page and with an impressive 23 likes the winner was Nigel Hackett with his boat restoration project using Solid Colour Stain. He’s bagged the prize, I wonder if he’ll choose the iPad or £400 of Owatrol products?

If you’re interested in creating projects like these yourselves then look out for our new ‘Get the Look’ feature. We’ll be posting photographs of inspiring projects and walking through step by step of how to achieve those looks with solutions from Owatrol.
