What is Aquadecks water-based wood finish?
Aquadecks is a penetrating water-based wood finish that leaves a long lasting, rich, matt finish for all woods, including exotic hardwoods.
As Aquadecks saturates and stabilises the wood, it has minimal cracking, warping and other damage caused by UV rays and moisture.
Due to its formula being non-film forming (no peeling or flaking) this makes it easy to maintain without the need for sanding and stripping.
It’s suitable for interior or exterior use and works perfectly on horizontal and vertical surfaces; such as decks, outdoor furniture or cladding. It can also be applied directly onto new or weathered wood.
You can apply it on hardwoods such as: including Ipé, Ironwood, Mahogany and Teak. It is also suitable for use on softwoods such as: Pine, Spruce, Cedar, Pressure treated woods etc.
Once your wood is ready for application, it is very simple to do. Please see the product page for more information on Aquadecks which can be found here.
- Apply a 1st liberal coat and allow to penetrate into the wood.
- Apply 2nd application as soon as the wet look of the 1st application has disappeared (normally 15- 20 minutes) and allow to penetrate into the wood. For very porous surfaces a 3rd application may be needed.
- Brush out any puddles within 20 minutes of applying the last application to avoid shiny spots on the surface.
Important things to remember
Do not allow it to become touch dry or dry between applications. Its place is in the wood not on the surface.
Do not create allow it to form a film on the surface, as this will affect the coatings performance.
