Polytrol is a deep penetrating oil which restores the original colour and appearance of dull or tarnished plastics, gelcoats, metals, and other surfaces.
It penetrates the surface, re-wetting the pigments to restore their lustre and colour which has been lost through exposure to sunlight, rain, and pollution and it also gives corrosion protection. When used on tarnished metals, it brings back the shine and gives long-term protection against corrosion.
Simple to apply using a cloth or soft brush, it’s ready to wipe off in just 10 minutes! It can be used on both horizontal and vertical surfaces and can even be used on fibreglass (GRP). Polytrol dries to a tough and long-lasting flexible finish which does not leave a film – so it won’t peel or flake.
Polytrol is now available in a handy 250ml spray can, great for quick application and difficult to reach areas. Please see the directions for use to find out how to apply it.

Application of Polytrol Colour Restorer
General directions
Always work in areas that can be completed 10-20 minutes to ensure an even appearance. If the surface absorbs the Polytrol unevenly (i.e. some matt and some shiny patches) move any surplus oil from shiny areas to matt areas. Wipe off any excess Polytrol with a lint-free cloth before it becomes tacky. For a shinier finish, buff the surface with a lint-free polishing cloth.
When using the Polytrol 250ml spray can, simply spray on liberally, wipe off any excess and leave to dry.
Applying Polytrol to plastic, gelcoat, tiles, painted surfaces etc.
Apply Polytrol liberally and evenly with a brush or cloth. Allow it to work for 10-20 minutes. Wipe off any excess with a clean lint-free cloth. Leave it to dry.
Applying Polytrol to stone, brick, etc.
Apply Polytrol liberally and evenly with a brush or cloth and leave it to work for 10-20 minutes. Brush out or wipe off any excess Polytrol with a clean lint-free cloth. Leave it to dry.
Applying Polytrol to metal
Apply Polytrol using a fine wire wool (000 grade) soaked in Polytrol and allow it to work for 10-20 minutes. Wipe off any excess Polytrol with a clean lint-free cloth. Leave to dry.
Note: Polytrol is not a surface coating. Its place is in the surface, not on top.
Maintenance
Maintenance is due when a Polytrol treated surfaces shows signs of fading. Prepare and re-treat surfaces as directed above.

Clean any tools used with white spirit. Polytrol is non-flammable, however any rags, steel wool etc. soaked in Polytrol may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Rags, steel wool etc must be saturated with water after use or placed in a sealed, water-filled metal container, before disposing of them with household waste. Rags may be laid flat and air-dried before discarding.

This product is amazing! I used it on my black composite stable door as it had started to fade & it looks like new. My other half was so impressed he used it on the black plastic parts of his car bumpers as well. I really wish I’d taken before & after photos so I could show just how good it is & what a difference it makes.

My green fibreglass observatory was looking very faded and dull after four years of exposure to the elements. The manufacturers recommended Polytrol to restore it to its former glory, so I ordered a one-litre can. I treated the whole structure with just half the can and have to say I am delighted with the results. It now looks like new again, with no trace of tarnishing and the colour has been restored to a deep lustre. 👍🏻

Just chanced upon your advert while browsing the net looking for a product that would improve the look of my door, and I am so very glad that I did – couldn’t have wished for a better result!

Bought the colour restorer for my composite door which had faded badly over time. Product was easy to use and took about 10mins for me to coat. So pleased with the way it has restored the colour. It now looks like a brand new door.

Bought this to revive the bumpers on my vw transporter, I have used lots of products that say they bring them back as new but none of them lasted for more than a month !
I was so impressed with the results I used it on a composite door in my street and the owner
was so happy they wanted to pay me ! what a bonus that payment paid for the 1ltr tin that I had bought, And I still have 3/4 of the product , will be on the lookout for more front doors and who knows it might be a nice little earner.

Thought you may like to see the difference in my caravan balcony after using Polytrol after recommendation from a friend on the same site.
I had been looking for a resolution to fading for some years without success. As you can see from the attached before and after photo’s the transformation has been remarkable.

Fantastic product I only bought the sample pot as I was a bit skeptical as to whether it would work. We have had a Keter garden storage box for 3 years which the lid has faded due to the sunlight the problem was that we bought a new one to go next to our original one and as I have a bit of ocd the fact that the lids were different colours I wanted to replace the older one so they would match but my husband wasn’t willing to spend another £110.00 for no reason so I googled plastic colour restorer and found your product and now I have two matching boxes for just £5.00. I will definitely recommend to all our family and friends who are in need of restoring rather than buying new items.

Forgot to take a before photo but which storage box is 3yrs old and which one is a week old?
I only bought the sample pot as I was rather sceptical as to whether it would work boy was I wrong.
