We love receiving your before and after photos of projects you’ve completed using Owatrol solutions and this latest one is great! A customer has used Owatrol’s Polytrol colour restorer to revive the plastic trims on their car and to great effect.
What is Polytrol colour restorer?
Polytrol restores the colour and appearance of dull and faded surfaces caused by exposure to sunlight, rain and pollution. It is a deep penetrating oil which restores the original look of plastics, gelcoats, metals and other surfaces. It penetrates the surface, re-wetting the pigments to restore their lustre and colour and when used on tarnished metals it brings back the shine and provides long-term corrosion protection.
Polytrol could not be easier to apply in just 2 simple steps:
- Clean the surface with warm soapy water or Net-Trol, rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry for a minimum of 12 hours depending on surface.
- Apply Polytrol liberally and evenly with a brush or cloth. Allow it to work for 10-20 minutes. Wipe off any excess with a clean lint free cloth. Then, simply leave it to dry.
Once you’ve completed these 2 steps you should achieve impressive results such as those in this car trim project.

It is priced at $16.17 for 0.5 litres and the delivery price is calculated using our UPS shipping calculator which will be calculated at the check out.
As for how long it lasts, it depends on the environment the surface is exposed to, but generally speaking you should expect Polytrol to last at least 12 months but usually more.
If Polytrol is applied to a surface that is exposed to prolonged direct sunlight or is in an area exposed to a lot of pollution, you should expect it to last a little less.
