We recently received some amazing pictures from Gemma of Gemma Stone Upholstery where she used products from our Spirit range to upcycle a chest of drawers.
We think you will agree that the difference is amazing and looks like a completely different piece of furniture now.
How did Gemma achieve this look?
Gemma created the copper effect on the drawers with the following products:
Blocking Primer
Blocking Primer is a protective primer for surfaces sensitive to application of Rust Spirit, Copper Spirit or Bronze Spirit is to be used.
It protects the surface from acid attack, which prevents the wood’s tannins from bleeding into the finish.
Reactiv Leaf Copper
Reactiv Leaf Copper is a paint that gives a copper appearance to any surface.
When combined with the application of Copper Spirit, it creates a natural aged grey/green (Verdigris) decorative effect.
Copper Spirit
Copper Spirit is an activator for creating realistic aged copper effects on bare copper surfaces, or surfaces treated with Reactive Leaf Copper.
Using Copper Spirit gives you full control over how much weathering you want and is quicker and safer than letting your copper surfaces weather naturally.
Spirit Sealer
Spirit Sealer stops and neutralises the effect of Rust Spirit, Copper Spirit and Bronze Spirit.
Using Spirit Sealer allows you to fix the decorative effect and colour once the desired level of oxidising has been achieved.
Natural Varnish
Natural Varnish is for use on decorative effects that have been created using the Owatrol Spirit range.
It helps seal and protect decorative effects with a matt finish.
