Polytrol 1L and 250ml can NEW
  • Restores the colour and appearance of dull and faded surfaces caused by exposure to sunlight, rain and pollution
  • Deep penetrating oil that restores the original look and

finish to gelcoat, plastic, metal and other surfaces

  • Protects against corrosion and blemishes
  • On bare metals Polytrol restores the shine and protects against corrosion
  • Now available in a handy 250ml spray can

Polytrol is a deep penetrating oil which restores the original colour and appearance of dull or tarnished plastics, gelcoats, metals, and other surfaces.

It penetrates the surface, re-wetting the pigments to restore their lustre and colour which has been lost through exposure to sunlight, rain, and pollution and it also gives corrosion protection.  When used on tarnished metals, it brings back the shine and gives long-term protection against corrosion.

Simple to apply using a cloth or soft brush, it’s ready to wipe off in just 10 minutes! It can be used on both horizontal and vertical surfaces and can even be used on fibreglass (GRP). Polytrol dries to a tough and long-lasting flexible finish which does not leave a film – so it won’t peel or flake.

Polytrol is now available in a handy 250ml spray can, great for quick application and difficult to reach areas. Please see the directions for use to find out how to apply it.

Application of Polytrol Colour Restorer

General directions

Always work in areas that can be completed 10-20 minutes to ensure an even appearance. If the surface absorbs the Polytrol unevenly (i.e. some matt and some shiny patches) move any surplus oil from shiny areas to matt areas. Wipe off any excess Polytrol with a lint-free cloth before it becomes tacky. For a shinier finish, buff the surface with a lint-free polishing cloth.

When using the Polytrol 250ml spray can, simply spray on liberally, wipe off any excess and leave to dry.

Applying Polytrol to plastic, gelcoat, tiles, painted surfaces etc.

Apply Polytrol liberally and evenly with a brush or cloth. Allow it to work for 10-20 minutes. Wipe off any excess with a clean lint-free cloth. Leave it to dry.

Applying Polytrol to stone, brick, etc.

Apply Polytrol liberally and evenly with a brush or cloth and leave it to work for 10-20 minutes. Brush out or wipe off any excess Polytrol with a clean lint-free cloth. Leave it to dry.

Applying Polytrol to metal

Apply Polytrol using a fine wire wool (000 grade) soaked in Polytrol and allow it to work for 10-20 minutes. Wipe off any excess Polytrol with a clean lint-free cloth. Leave to dry.

Note: Polytrol is not a surface coating. Its place is in the surface, not on top.

Maintenance

Maintenance is due when a Polytrol treated surfaces shows signs of fading. Prepare and re-treat surfaces as directed above.

Clean Up

Clean any tools used with white spirit. Polytrol is non-flammable, however any rags, steel wool etc. soaked in Polytrol may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Rags, steel wool etc must be saturated with water after use or placed in a sealed, water-filled metal container, before disposing of them with household waste. Rags may be laid flat and air-dried before discarding.

  • Do not apply in direct sunlight or on to hot surfaces.

first time user of Owatrol Polytrol. Used it on a faded front door and it brought it up a treat.Looks like it did when new in the 90’s

    Great service, great product.

I have used this on my black composite front door which had faded with larges parts looking grayish and worn.

The colour restorer was very easy to apply, I used a paint brush and the door looks nice and shiny and back to being a lovely black door.

I also used this on my mum’s Grey front door that had white marks where it had become weathered and it also came up a treat.

    Delivery:
Arrived quickly, as per the delivery commitment online.
    Job:
My Thule roofbox shiny finish had been cracked and then progressively de-laminated over several years. The company could make no suggestions.re a repair, so I looked online and eventually found this.
Followed the prep. instructions, and found it easy to apply with a varnishing brush. While the finish does not match the original, the difference is quite hard to spot at first glance. Very pleased, and will now investigate their other products for our wooden sailing dinghy and other tasks!

I have two black composite doors in full sun on the side of my house ( a bad choice of colour on reflection). Over 10 years they have faded with a ‘bloom’ that made them look grey. After following the instructions about cleaning I treated them with the oil using a rag and I just could not believe the difference, they look brand new. It’s the best money I’ve spent this year and would highly recommend.

Excellent product – brought our Garador garage doors up like new, likewise our ground to eaves metal entrance door/ windows. Our decorator was impressed but said it required a little more effort than the instructions suggested. That said, we were both very impressed and would certainly recommend it.

The hardest part was washing the door. A very faded red composite door.Just one coat of this fantastic product, brought the door back to as new. Combined with excellent service (delivery 3 days earlier than stated) Well pleased and would highly reccomend. 1st class.

Ordered this as it was suggested by a fellow car enthusiast that it could brighten ‘plastic coated’ chrome trim on my Jag XF door frames. The trim had got a cloudy, mottled appearance and wouldn’t polish out, so I gave this a try. It certainly improved the appearance, quite significantly. You don’t need to apply much! Happy with the results.
