Another one of our fantastic customers sent in some pictures of their ipe hardwood decking restored with D.1 Pro.
As you can see from these before and after pictures, all their hard work paid off and now Joel’s garden deck looks as good as new!
Here’s what Joel had to say about it:
Refinishing work to ipe hardwood decking boards used as raised planter edging and a decking walkway. I used Aquanett to strip a previous finish of oil and clean the boards then neutralised the wood with Net-Trol.
Once dry and a few weeks later I applied a finish of D.1 Pro oil with microfibre cloths and the boards look amazing once again!
Products used
Aquanett
Aquanett is a powerful, wood oil remover and cleaner that strips out new, old and encrusted oils from exterior wooden surfaces blackened by UV rays. As Aquanett is biodegradable it is suitable for use in environmentally sensitive areas such as gardens. Its gel consistency also means that it will not run, making it perfect for use on vertical surfaces.
Easy to apply and fast acting, Aquanett also quickly and efficiently removes mill glaze from the surface of new wood, improving the saturation and adhesion of a finish.
Net-Trol
Net-Trol is a biodegradable wood cleaner and neutraliser which restores greyed and weathered wood back to its natural colour. It easily removes surface and ground-in dirt to leave the wood looking fresh and new again. All without damaging the wood’s fibres.
Net-Trol is fast-acting and can restore the colour of your wood in as little as 15 minutes. All without sanding!
It can also be used as a neutraliser after the application of a stripping product such as Aquanett. This is an important step in the process as it stops the active ingredient from continuing to work.
D.1 Pro
D.1 Pro is a high-performance wood oil which saturates deep into the surface to replace oils that have been lost due to weather, pollution and UV rays. D.1 Pro does this by pushing out moisture and air from within the wood’s fibres and fills the pores with oil. This stabilises the wood to provide long-lasting protection.
Suitable for use on interior and exterior timber, horizontal or vertical surfaces, D.1 Pro enhances the natural beauty of the wood whilst also being easy to use and maintain, requiring no sanding or stripping.
