Top decking transformations using Owatrol

We thought we would showcase a few of our favourite top decking transformations with Owatrol, to better help you decide on which product is the best option for you!

Deck transformation using an Owatrol wood oil finish

We have a wide variety of oil based wood finishes available. Our most popular ones are Deks Olje D1, Textrol and Aquadecks.

Deks Olje D1

Deks Olje D1 is a clear wood oil which gives a matt finish that enhances the natural beauty of the wood. It’s easy to maintain with a simple clean and reapplication, so no sanding or stripping is required.

D1 saturates deep into the surface of the wood pushing out any moisture and air present and filling the wood’s pores with oil. This stabilises the wood to provide long-lasting premium protection.

As it saturates into the wood it does not form a film on the surface. This allows for protection to come from within so therefore will not peel or crack.

Deks Olje D1 can be used on both hard and softwood and has been specially developed for dense, oily and difficult to impregnate woods. You can use Deks Olje D1 on both horizontal and vertical surfaces and so is perfect for use on decking as well as sheds, fences and garden furniture.

D1 Pro

Owatrol D1 Pro is a high-performance saturating oil which replaces those that have been lost deep within the wood. It pushes out moisture and air and fills the woods pores with rich oil, stabilising the wood to provide long-lasting protection.

For horizontal or vertical surfaces, as well as both interior and exterior wood, D.1 Pro enhances the natural beauty of the wood whilst also being easy to use and maintain.

Textrol

Textrol is a deeply saturating wood oil finish for exterior soft and hardwood. As it is a penetrative product it protects the wood from within. This means that there is no film on the surface and as such it will not peel or flake.

Textrol enhances the natural beauty of the wood whilst providing a mildew-resistant finish with exceptional and long-lasting protection from the effects of moisture, weathering and UV rays.

One of the best parts is that Textrol is applied wet-on-wet which saves time as you don’t need to wait for coats to dry during application. The maintenance is also very easy with only local touch-ups requires, so there is no laborious sanding.

Just like Deks Olje D1, Textrol can also be applied to both horizontal and vertical surfaces. This makes it perfect for application on decks, sheds, fences, garden furniture and more.

Aquadecks

Aquadecks is a penetrating water-based wood finish that leaves a long-lasting, rich, matt finish for all woods. For easy application, Aquadecks is ready to use, applied wet-on-wet (so no waiting around for hours between coats to dry) and has a low odour.

Similarly to Deks Olje D1 and Textrol, Aquadecks saturates and stabilises wood from within. Because of this, there is no film left on the surface of the wood and so will not peel or flake.

Due to Aquadecks being a water-based finish, clean up is very easy with just soap and water needed. You can also apply Aquadecks to horizontal and vertical surfaces, but not only that, it can also be used on internal wood as well!

Deck transformation using an Owatrol Opaque wood finishes

We also supply a variety of opaque wood finishes such as S.C.S (solid colour stain) and Decking Paint.

Decking Paint

Owatrol Decking Paint is a premium, opaque, matt finish suitable for use on new wood, weathered wood as well as previously treated wood. It is fortified with Owatrol’s E-B (Emulsa-Bond) which helps it provide unsurpassed adhesion.

Our Decking Paint range is available in 35 colours and is very easy to use with just 2 coats needed in most cases. It provides long-lasting protection, even on high-traffic garden decking and when applied correctly to bare wood, it is guaranteed against peeling or flaking for 5 years (please see here for the warranty details).
